biography
Domenico Bianchi is an Italian artist born in Anagni in 1955. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and made his debut in 1977 with a solo exhibition organized by Ugo Ferranti at the Fine Arts Building in New York. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, including significant events such as Europa '79 in Stuttgart, the Parigi o cara exhibition at the Yvon Lambert Gallery in Paris, and the 1992 III Istanbul Biennial. In the 1980s, he emerged as a key figure of the Roman School, collaborating with artists from the Pastificio Cerere in Rome and taking part in exhibitions curated by Achille Bonito Oliva. His art is characterized by an abstract language where the relationship between figure and background is central, using refined materials such as wax, precious metals, fiberglass, and polished wood chosen for their luminosity and color. Bianchi seeks a balance between form and color, creating works that explore space and light through incised or scratched marks, expressing an essential and ever-evolving painting style. His artistic production has been repeatedly exhibited in the United States and Europe, establishing his reputation in the contemporary art scene.
