After several stages of migration, he arrived in Rome in 1881, and in 1884 opened his first shop in Via Sistina. Growing success led to the opening, in 1905, of the now-iconic boutique on Via dei Condotti, still the symbol of the maison. With the involvement of his sons Costantino and Giorgio, Bvlgari evolved from an artisanal workshop into an international brand, developing an increasingly distinctive style.
During the 1920s and 1930s, Art Deco influences brought geometric lines and new color combinations. In the post-war years, during the era of the “Dolce Vita,” Bulgari defined its aesthetic identity: bold use of yellow gold, richly colored cabochon stones, sculptural volumes, and a glamour that captivated actresses and personalities worldwide.
In the following decades, icons such as the Serpenti line were created, accompanied by continuous technical innovation. From the 1980s onward, the brand expanded globally, diversifying into watches, accessories, and luxury hospitality.
Today Bvlgari, part of the LVMH Group, is considered one of the leading names in high jewelry, renowned for its blend of Mediterranean heritage and contemporary creativity.
