The "Neubrandenstein" decoration takes its name from the famous service created by the Meissen Manufactory for Neubrandenstein Castle in the 18th century. It is one of the most prestigious models of the manufacture's production, characterized by a rich border in relief in Rococo style, embellished with extensive burnished and polished gilding. The surfaces are decorated with delicate floral bouquets, scattered flowers, insects and butterflies hand-painted with extraordinary naturalistic precision, according to a tradition that makes each piece slightly different from the next. The whole combines the plastic refinement of the relief with the liveliness of the polychrome painting, giving life to a service of great elegance and refinement, among the most representative of Meissen's historical production, repeated several times during the 19th and 20th centuries.
