An antique Sino-Tibetan Yama Dharmaraja gilt-bronze sculpture

Yama Dharmaraja, the Lord of Death, is modelled in a powerful stance atop (the pratyalidhasana) his vehicle, the buffalo. The buffalo lies on a prostrate human figure, which represents perseverance over ignorance. The hair of Dharmaraja is coloured with minerals in red and shaped like flames. The oval base is decorated with stylized Lotus leafs. , 35x24x12 cm.
