A rare pair of Italian ebonized wood and ivory tables

Florence, ca. 1640/50
richly decorated all over the top with ivory marquetry. Representing hunting scenes of Frederick I the Holy Roman Emperor at Mugello in the North East of Florence, together with the earl of Mugello Giovanni Ubaldini. The model of the scenes represented on this tables is located at the British Museum in London, made by Gallianus Forese, dated 1639. Provenance: Palazzo Camuccini, Cantalupo in Sabina. Conditions: The tops present some minor losses of the ivory marquetry and the stand is not coeval., 131x65x84 cm.
