In the 1930s and 1940s, Universal Genève rose to prominence with iconic models such as the Compax and the Tri-Compax, prized for their precision and elegance. The brand became a favorite among professionals, explorers, and even political figures, helping cement its reputation as one of Switzerland’s most prestigious watchmakers.
After its golden age in the mid-20th century, Universal Genève faced challenges during the quartz crisis of the 1970s, which disrupted much of the Swiss watch industry.
