The story of Hermès began in 1837 in Paris, when Thierry Hermès founded a workshop specializing in the production of harnesses and saddles for the European aristocracy. From the very beginning, the maison distinguished itself through exceptional craftsmanship, a rigorous selection of materials, and meticulous attention to detail.
By the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Hermès gradually expanded its activities, moving from equestrian goods into leather goods, travel trunks, and luxury accessories. Artisanal savoir-faire has remained at the heart of the house, with limited production carried out entirely by hand.
