biography
Felice Levini is a contemporary artist born in Rome in 1956, where he still lives and works. After completing his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, in 1978 he co-founded, together with Giuseppe Salvatori and Claudio Damiani, a self-managed exhibition space in Via Sant'Agata dei Goti, which became a cultural hub for exhibitions, poetry, and music, embodying artistic freedom. His public debut dates back to 1978 with exhibitions in the self-managed space and at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. In 1979, he held a solo show at Studio Cannaviello in Milan and in 1980 joined the Nuovi-nuovi group under the guidance of critic Renato Barilli. Levini's art is characterized by irony and a reflection on the world system, with works ranging from painting to installations, sculptures, and performances, always maintaining a strong connection to the pictorial fact. Notable exhibitions include participation in the 43rd Venice Biennale in 1988, the traveling exhibition Italiana: 1950-1986 in Spain, and numerous solo and group shows in Italy and abroad. His production includes series such as "Circolo degli angeli" and works combining mixed media, acrylics, and assemblages. Levini is recognized for his ability to blend chaos and order, irony and depth, in a continuous dialogue between form and content.
