Founded in 1884 in Saint-Imier by Léon Breitling, Breitling SA quickly established itself as a specialist in precision instruments. A pioneer of the modern chronograph, the maison refined independent pushers and dedicated counters, transforming the watch from a simple timekeeping device into a true professional tool.
In the 1930s, it became an official supplier to British aviation, cementing an enduring connection with the world of flight and high-performance measurement. In 1952, the legendary Breitling Navitimer was introduced, featuring a circular slide rule and rapidly adopted by pilots as well as the AOPA—perfectly embodying the brand’s bold spirit.
